PR 15298 and PR 15322 - SBA Opens Business Recovery Center in Puerto Rico For Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria Recovery

ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the opening of a Business Recovery Center (BRC) in San Juan on Oct. 3, to help businesses impacted by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria.
 
SBA representatives at the Center can provide information about disaster loans, answer questions and assist businesses in completing the SBA application.  The Center is located as indicated below and will operate until further notice.

Also, the SBA BRC located at Centro De Convenciones De PR, 100 Calle Guamani, San Juan, PR 00907 closed on Sunday, Oct. 1.
 
“The SBA is committed to facilitating economic recovery in this disaster.  We want area businesses to have a resource where they can meet individually with SBA representatives and find out how a low-interest disaster loan can help them recover,” said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA’s Field Operations Center East in Atlanta.
 
The SBA offers low-interest, long-term disaster loans for physical damage and working capital.
 
To be considered for all forms of disaster assistance, applicants should register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or on the FEMA mobile App.  If online or mobile access is unavailable, applicants should call the FEMA toll-free helpline at 800-621-3362.  Those who use 711 or Video Relay Services may also call 800-621-3362.  People who use TTY may call 800-462-7585. 
 
Additional details on the locations of Disaster Recovery Centers and the loan application process can be obtained by calling SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.  Loan applications can be downloaded from www.sba.gov.  Completed applications should be returned to a recovery center or mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.  For more information about SBA recovery assistance, visit www.sba.gov/disaster.
 
The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Nov. 9, 2017 for Hurricane Irma; and Nov. 20, 2017 for Hurricane Maria.  The deadline to return economic injury applications is June 11, 2018 for Hurricane Irma and June 20, 2018 for Hurricane Maria.
