About Our Office: 

The Hawaii District Office, under the leadership of District Director Thornton "Mark" Spain, oversees the delivery of SBA's programs throughout the State of Hawaii, the Territories of Guam and American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Services Available

Over the years, the SBA has developed many small business loan and assistance programs, special outreach efforts and initiatives to aid and inform small businesses. The following briefly describes all the services and information available through our network of resource partners:

  • No-Cost counseling to aspiring entrepreneurs and established small businesses looking to expand. Workshops and seminars at little or no cost presented at locations throughout Hawaii.SBDC Centers are located on the Big Island of Hawaii, Oahu, Maui and Kauai.   • Assistance to businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals is available through the 8(a) Business Development Program. Orientation workshops for the 8(a) Program are held regularly - please call (808) 541-2990 to reserve a space.

  • Financial assistance for new or existing businesses is available through SBA approved lenders and micro-lenders
