Stacey Poynter, District Director

District Director

Stacey Poynter is District Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in the Indiana District Office.  He was promoted to this position in December 2014 and previously served in various capacities in the office since 2008. 

Poynter and his team deliver SBA’s products and services across the entire state of Indiana.  His outreach to small businesses includes providing the “3 C’s”: access to Capital, government Contracting opportunities, and small business Counseling.

Poynter is a life-long resident of Indiana.  He grew-up in Columbus, IN and has lived in West Lafayette, Bloomington, Bedford, Evansville, and currently resides in Bargersville.  Poynter graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Management.

Before joining the SBA, he had 15 years experience in financial services management with an emphasis on consumer and commercial lending.

Poynter has a unique management style, which allows him to gain respect from his colleagues, peers and subordinates. His high energy and motivation keep the IDO team engaged to meeting the district office strategic goals.  Poynter completed the Office of Personnel Management Leadership Training course in FY14.  As part of this program, a 360 assessment was completed which provided confirmation and insight regarding his leadership style.
