Stacey Poynter, District Director

Stacey Poynter

As the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Indiana district director, Stacey Poynter is responsible for the delivery of SBA’s programs and services, including funding, business advising, and government contracting assistance throughout the state. He oversees coordination of services between the district office team, other federal agencies, more than 120 lending institutions, and state and local resource partners including the Indiana Small Business Development Centers, SCORE chapters, and Women Business Centers.

Poynter began his career at the SBA in 2008 as a lender relations specialist where he had the opportunity to educate and assist Indiana lenders providing SBA-guaranteed loans to their clients. He quickly progressed through the ranks and served as a lead lender relations specialist and deputy district director before to being chosen as the district director in 2014.

Prior to joining the SBA, Poynter worked for more than 15 years in financial services management and sales with an emphasis on consumer and commercial lending. An Indiana native, Poynter grew up in Columbus and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in management.
