Aregnaz Mooradian, Deputy District Director

Since September 2021, Aregnaz Mooradian has been serving as Deputy District Director with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) North Carolina District Office in Charlotte. In this capacity, Ms. Mooradian is a partner to the District Director, and works with small businesses through expansion of SBA’s programs and services. Prior to this role, Ms. Mooradian was Lead Business Opportunity Specialist with SBA in North Carolina, working to support a portfolio of 8(a) certified firms to provide business development assistance and to assist in navigating the federal small business procurement space. She also worked with buying agencies and small business specialists to facilitate small business contract awards.  

Aregnaz began with SBA as a Business Opportunity and Lender Relations Specialist in 2013 at the Arizona District Office in Phoenix. She was responsible for assisting partner lending institutions to understand the policies related to SBA’s government guarantee program. She conducted credit trainings for borrowers, and guided individuals who needed technical assistance and business development services.

Prior to SBA, she worked with the United States Peace Corps in Uganda, East Africa, as a microfinance specialist, and led change management initiatives for a local microlender. Ms. Mooradian has also worked with a Los Angeles based non-profit, where she was responsible for human capital and fund development.

Ms. Mooradian holds a graduate and undergraduate degree from the California State University, Long Beach.
