Richard Gregg White, District Director

Gregg White was appointed District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s South Carolina District Office in September 2017. He is responsible for overseeing the implementation and the delivery of agency programs ranging from capital access assistance, small business counseling, business development programs, and overall leadership.

Gregg began his career in federal service in 1984 as a Community and Business Loan Specialist. After serving 15 years with United States Department of Agriculture, he transitioned to the SBA as a Finance Division/Portfolio Management Chief. In 2004 returned to the USDA as a Business and Cooperative Director. In 2012, Gregg returned to the SBA as a Lead Lender Relations Specialist. Later he was promoted to Deputy District Director.

Gregg graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administrative Management and a diploma from Eau Claire High.  He has been in lending for over 35 years in both the private and public sectors.  Also he has owned his own real estate, construction, tax service, rental service and landscaping businesses.

Gregg has served on Chapin and Irmo, SC’s town councils and planning commissions.  He is active in his church and has served as a deacon, chairman of the building committee, finance committee and their youth Royal Rangers Programs.

His hobbies include hunting, fishing, gardening and weight lifting.  He has been happily married to Vonnie White for 43 plus years.  He has three children and seven grandkids in his quiver.  His priorities have always been God, Family and Country.
