Dante Acosta, District Director

District Director Acosta

Before accepting the position with SBA, Dante Acosta served as Mayor Pro Tem in California’s Santa Clarita City Council, and as the State Assemblyman for California’s 38th District. 

Acosta’s career in the financial services industry spans 20 years and includes management positions at Dean Witter, Wells Fargo Investments, Prudential Financial, The Hartford, ING Financial Services, and Ameriprise Financial.

Born and raised in Southern California, Acosta is respected among leaders in government, business, civic and religious arenas, with a long history of volunteerism and community involvement.  Acosta has served as a board member of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), Circle of Hope Inc. and was a member of the Hispanic Business Roundtable. He has also worked with the William S. Hart Park and the Hart Museum, The Rotary Club, Santa Clarita City Parks League Teams, Little League Coach, Santa Clarita Christian School, Santa Clarita Baptist Church, Single Mother's Outreach.

Married 33 years to Carolyn, the Acostas have 3 children, Allie and Doran.  Their eldest son, U.S. Army Specialist Rudy Acosta, was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2011.  After the loss of their son; the Acostas founded the Rudy A. Acosta Memorial Foundation to increase involvement in military programs and services.
