About Our Office: 

The Lubbock District Office is committed to fostering economic growth in west Texas through the delivery of SBA's many programs and services. In collaboration with our resource and lending partners we provide quality customer service and assistance to small businesses in 71 west Texas counties.

Services Available

Over the years, the SBA has developed many small business loan and assistance programs, special outreach efforts and initiatives to aid and inform small businesses. The following describes briefly all the services and information available through this office:

  • Financial assistance for new or existing businesses through guaranteed loans made by area bank and non-bank lenders. Contact Kim Hobgood or Jennifer Oldham at 806-472-7462.
  • Free counseling, advice and information on starting, better operating or expanding a small business through (SCORE) Counselors to America’s Small Business. Find a mentor at www.score.org.
  • Assistance to businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals through the Minority Enterprise Development Program. Contact Scotty Arnold or Smiley Garcia at 806-472-7462.
  • Women's Business Ownership Representatives are available to advise women business owners. Contact Smiley Garcia at 806-472-7462 ext. 107.
  • Special loan programs are available for businesses involved in international trade. Contact Jennifer Oldham at 806-472-7462 ext. 106.
  • If you're a veteran, you can get business counseling and information about SBA guaranteed loans. Contact Smiley Garcia at 806-472-7462 ext. 107.
  • Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) provide aspiring and current small business owners a variety of free business consulting and low-cost training services including: business plan development, manufacturing assistance, financial packaging and lending assistance, exporting and importing support, disaster recovery assistance, procurement and contracting aid, market research help, 8(a) program support, and healthcare guidance.
