Having two generations of hand-dipped chocolate-making relatives convinced Steve Hatch that there must be some strong potential to turn a family passion into a successful business.  

Blue Mountain Meats has been in the Frost family since its founding by Harold Frost in 1954, after he was discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps and returned home. Newly married and starting a young family, Frost borrowed $12,000 and built a custom slaughter house in Monticello.
