As Associate Administrator for Communications and Public Liaison, Ben Chang is responsible for managing the Agency’s public communications, digital media, marketing, and external affairs efforts in support of the Agency’s goals and the businesses it serves.
Over the course of his career in public service and the private sector, Ben has directly advised and provided communications support for senior White House officials, Cabinet Secretaries, and Ambassadors. Most recently, Ben served as Senior Vice President for Communications at the Albright Stonebridge Group and, prior to that, as a Principal at The Podesta group. Before entering the private sector, Ben spent over 17 years as a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State, during which time he served as Senior Advisor for Strategic Planning & Crisis Communications at the State Department from 2011 to 2012, Deputy Spokesman and Director for Public Affairs & Communications at the White House National Security Council from 2008 to 2011, Deputy Spokesman to the U.S. Mission to the United Nations from 2004 to 2008, and Press Secretary and Executive Assistant to the Ambassador for the U.S. Mission to the Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development from 2001 to 2004. Ben received a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
