Centers for International Business Education and Research
CIBERs assist U.S. companies with exporting and are located at 27 universities around the U.S.

Associations Helping the Small Exporter

ATA Carnet
The ATA Carnet, also known as the Merchandise Passport, is an international customs document that expedites temporary imports into foreign countries. Valid for up to one year, the Carnet permits unlimited exits from the US and entries into foreign countries, eliminating value-added taxes and duties. All commercial goods, including samples, professional equipment and items for trade shows and exhibitions can be covered by the Carnet. To begin the application process, the US exporter need only visit the website to receive a user name and password. Advance registration is required.

Federation of International Trade Associations
The Federation of International Trade Associations fosters international trade by strengthening the role of local, regional, and national associations throughout the United States that have an international mission. FITA maintains a comprehensive list of associations which can help the U.S. exporter.

International Chamber of Commerce
The International Chamber of Commerce is a representative body that speaks with authority on behalf of enterprises from all sectors in every part of the world.

International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES)
International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) provides technical assistance in the promotion of democracy worldwide and to serve as a clearinghouse for information about democratic development and elections.

Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT)
