June Teasley joined the U.S. Small Business Administration in May 1996 as the Region VII Communications Director. She works with the Region VII SBA Regional Administrator and five SBA district offices in the region to communicate information about the programs, services and the mission of the SBA to small businesses and entrepreneurs in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.
A graduate of Fort Hays State University in Kansas, Teasley edited her university’s student newspaper and led its journalism honorary society, which nationally awarded her first place for editorial writing.
Prior to joining the SBA, Teasley worked as a reporter for a regional daily newspaper, structured public relations and advertising for a merchants association, managed accounts at a national advertising agency and served as a legislative liaison for a Kansas state agency to communicate information and provide testimony before legislative committees. She spent many years working in both paid and non-paid positions for non-profit, political and volunteer organizations structuring their public relations initiatives and internal and external communications, organizing volunteers, writing speeches and coordinating local and statewide events. The focus of each of these positions was to communicate relevant information and inspire action by federal, state and local governments, stakeholders and the public.
Ms. Teasley has communicated SBA information to help people start, grow and achieve success as small business owners for more than 20 years. In 2015, she received an Excellence in Public Service Award for Distinguished Leadership from the Greater Kansas City Federal Executive Board.
