Kathleen McShane

Kathleen McShane currently serves as Senior Advisor to SBA's Office of Veterans Business Development.  Previously, she oversaw Women's Business Centers throughout the country for the Office of Women's Business Ownership.

Prior to joining the SBA, she was CEO and Founder of Ladies Launch Club a company that provided guidance to women who wanted to launch a business.

Microsoft CEO Bill Gates presented McShane with the  Award of Honor for innovation in the workplace from the National Business and Disability Council.  McShane was awarded the Outstanding Woman of the Year Award from the Connecticut Chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners and the CBS News Radio Small Business Award.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University. She has attended Columbia University Executive Management Program and has a Certification in Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.  She was an adjunct professor at New York University where she taught Competitive Intelligence.

McShane was formerly on the Board of Directors for Bankwell (formerly the Bank of New Canaan), where she was a founding director and was Chairperson of the Marketing Committee and served on the Personnel and Compensation Committee. She also served on the Norwalk Hospital Foundation Board.

She has two grown children.
