How To Apply

Learn about the application process for the 8(a) Business Development program.

SBA is launching an enhanced application experience for firms applying to the 8(a) Business Development program. Firms can start their new, streamlined applications on Certify.SBA.Gov on November 15, 2017. User guides, videos, and an application checklist are available here.

  • New 8(a) applicants will no longer be able to create a profile in our General Login System (GLS) and access a new 8(a) application in BDMIS, starting on October 1, 2017.

  • Firms with existing GLS log-ins for BDMIS will be able to complete their already started 8(a) application until October 15th. If their 8(a) application is not completed and submitted by October 15th, then those firms will have to restart the 8(a) application process within Certify.SBA.Gov starting November 15th.

  • Firms awaiting a decision will still be able to access their BDMIS accounts using existing log-in information.

  • 8(a) Participants can continue to access GLS and BDMIS via existing log-in information for annual updates submission until notified. Forms for applying to the 8(a) Business Development Program

Note: The streamlined 8(a) application process that will be launched on November 15, 2017 in Certify.SBA.Gov incorporates many of the former forms into online questionnaires. The following forms will still need to be uploaded into Certify.SBA.Gov. The new system will walk users through which forms need to be uploaded.
