Event description
Get your questions about growing your business answered by real entrepreneurs in your community. Ellen Cahill will be the highlighted speaker for this workshop, where she will talk and interact with workshop participants on fine tuning your marketing message and polish your communication style.
This peer-to-peer / networking workshop series is a follow-on to our “Simple Steps to Starting a Business” workshop series, which is designed for someone who is either planning to start a business or is looking to grow an existing business.
These Entrepreneurial Cohort meetings are designed to encourage networking amongst the entrepreneurs and enable learning in a safe yet practical way.
The following will be covered:
• Keeping your message concise and memorable
• Understanding client / customer motivations
• Talking in benefits, not features
• Asking for the next step
• Questions to Ellen Cahill and other attendees on running a successful business
• Peer-to-peer information exchange
• Identification of future business topics for this workshop series facilitated by SCORE mentors
Refreshments will be served. Networking will be from 6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Presenter: Joe McCaffrey
Joe McCaffrey is a Business Advisor with Community Investment Corporation, which is a not-for-profit economic development lender, licensed by the Small Business Administration to administer their lending programs. Joe is also a certified business mentor and subject matter expert in commercial real estate and small business financing with Fairfield County SCORE.

Ellen Cahill was in the business of speaking. As co-founder of Cahill Associates over 35 years ago, she trained and coached thousands of professionals to deliver clear, concise messages that produced results. Ellen has made guest appearances on both NBC “Today” and CNN-FN. She was featured in the “Management Video” series of the Wall Street Journal on line.
Her mentoring experiences include 10 years at Baruch College in NYC with business and finance students, followed by 7 years with SCORE. Ellen’s clients have included: Microsoft, Pfizer, Hilton Hotels, Kraft Foods, Con Edison, American Express, the New York Times and the Alumni Association of the Harvard Business School.
