Event description

Achieving your small business focused goals is often dependent on having a strong personal credit profile and credit score. Small business owners are often led to believe that their business credit matters more than their personal credit in order to obtain financing, however, as many have learned, that is not the actual reality.

As small business owners work to obtain financing, they are often presented with the reality that their personal credit score plays a much more significant role than their business credit.  In fact, in the beginning and first growth stages, lenders are truly usually only looking at personal credit scores!

This interactive credit as an asset workshop is designed to help you learn more about building and improving your personal credit profile so that you can achieve your business financial goals.

This workshop is being presented in both a hybrid and in-person format.  The morning session (9:00 am-11:30 am) will be held in a hybrid format, and allows unlimited attendees.  The afternoon session will only be available for those attending in person, with a maximum of 20 attendees.  Once the in-person slots have been filled, a waiting list will be created, or you can register for an upcoming workshop, dates and times TBD.

Our morning workshop will provide you with the tools and information needed to:

  • Set credit building goals;
  • Understand how credit building works;
  • Learn how to read and understand your credit report and score;
  • Understand how to deal with debt and collections while building credit;
  • Explore tools and develop skills in order to build your credit; and
  • Learn about credit building products and resources which may help you on your credit building journey.

**Workshop organizers are the New Growth Women’s Business Center, with support from the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Borealis Consulting, LLC.**

This workshop is part of SCORE Southwest Missouri's "Access to Money" workshop series. This series has been generously sponsored by Simmons Bank and brought to you by SCORE Southwest MO and partners.
