On August 22, 2025, SBA published a proposed rule in the Federal Register proposing to revise monetary based size standards for businesses in various NAICS sectors. The proposed rule is part of the third 5-year rolling review of small business size standards, as required under the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010 (Public Law No. 111-240, sect. 1344, September 27, 2010).
SBA proposed to increase 263 monetary based (259 receipts based and four assets based) industry size standards. SBA’s proposed revisions relied on its recently revised “Size Standards Methodology.”
