A discussion of patent and trademark searching and the free resources available for conducting searching. We will discuss why and why not to conduct a search prior to filing, briefly demonstrate some of the free online resources available for conducting searching, explain the classification systems used by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and provide some searching tips.
