Event description
Learn how to visualize your Business Model on a single canvas. Your Business Model can be used to: vet a business idea, generate an investor pitch, gather and outline information needed for a formal Business Plan, and/or manage your existing business through internal and external changes.
We use the standard Business Model Canvas taught in many business schools. This is a dynamic, ever-changing model that you continually modify as your customer needs, competition, and internal capabilities change.
Part 1: In the first two hours, you will learn about the nine building blocks of a business model and their interrelationships. First, we will discuss your Value Proposition (products and services as viewed through your customers’ eyes) and the Customer Segments you will be serving. Then we consider the Channels you use to reach your customers and how you develop strong Customer Relationships. Next, we examine the Key Activities, Resources, and Partners needed to create and deliver your value proposition. Finally, we look at what makes up your Cost Structure and potential Revenue Streams. By the end of the second hour, you will have begun work on at least seven of the nine components of the model.
Part 2: In the third and final hour, attendees will have the opportunity to share parts of their canvas and receive feedback from SCORE mentor(s) and others participating in the workshop. Everyone is welcome to stay for this hour, but only those with their cameras enabled will be able to participate.
