Event description
The OSHA 30-hour construction course (English only) is intended to provide workers who have safety responsibilities as part of their job duties with a greater understanding of hazards and requirements involved on the construction jobsite. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention.
- Promotes safety culture through peer training
- Training is intended to be participatory, using hands-on activities
- Outreach training content includes hazard recognition and avoidance, workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint; it emphasizes the value of safety and health to workers, including young workers.
- In order to attend, the student must understand and communicate in the language of the course.
This 5-day, in-person course is presented by authorized instructors and designed to instruct employers and their employees in the essentials of occupational safety and health in construction. Those who complete the course receive an OSHA 30-Hour Construction course completion card within eight weeks.
