Veterans! In celebration of National Veterans Small Business Week join us for Veteran Certifications and Doing Business with the Government Training.
Presented by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley APEX Accelerator.
Part 1 -Doing Business with the Federal Government
If you're looking to do business with the government, the first step is to register in the System for Award Management (SAM). SAM is a federal contracting/vendor portal that is primarily utilized for contractor small business search and payment purposes for any federal government goods and services purchased through bid opportunities.
- Learn how to classify your industry with the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
- How to register your business with the federal government in (SAM) and the documents needed.
- Meet representatives from the SBA and UTRGV APEX Accelerator
- Network with other participants.

Attention Veterans, apply for your "Veteran-Owned Small Business Certification" today! The Federal government uses special programs to help small businesses win at least 23% of all federal contracting dollars each year. SBA provides several programs to help veteran-owned small businesses win these federal contracts.
