Event description

The Cecil County Office of Economic Development will host Capital Conversations, a small business education session focused on understanding financing options available through the U.S. Small Business Administration, on February 10, 2026.

The event will feature an overview of SBA financing programs led by Rachel Skinner, SBA District Representative. The session is designed to help entrepreneurs and business owners better understand how SBA-backed financing works, what lenders typically look for, and how businesses can prepare before they need capital.

Capital Conversations is intended to be approachable and informative for businesses at all stages—from early-stage entrepreneurs to established companies considering growth, expansion, or equipment purchases. No application or prior experience with SBA programs is required to attend.

Following the event, optional one-on-one virtual office hours will be offered for attendees who want to discuss their specific business situation, ask follow-up questions, or explore next steps in a low-pressure setting.

Who should attend:

  • Small business owners and entrepreneurs from Maryland and Delaware
  • Startups and early-stage businesses
  • Businesses considering growth or expansion
  • Minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses
  • Anyone seeking to better understand business financing options
