WASHINGTON - On Thursday, August 14, the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Maria Contreras-Sweet, will be in the Denver area to meet with local business owners. Since being appointed by President Barack Obama to lead the agency that advocates and guides our nation’s entrepreneurs, Administrator Contreras-Sweet has made it a priority to meet with small business owners all over the country, to hear about their experiences, challenges, and opportunities.
In the afternoon, the Administrator will visit Pathfinder Systems Inc., Arvada. Pathfinder is a veteran and woman-owned small business that specializes in simulator technologies. Through SBA programs such as the Export Working Capital, the Export Express Loan, and 8(a) Business Development, they have navigated government contracting and exporting. Their customers include Department of Defense and other U.S. Government and foreign government agencies for over 28 consecutive years.
Later in the day, she will sit down for a listening session with small businesses in the manufacturing sectors, to hear about challenges and opportunities for them, and how the SBA can better serve them.
