WASHINGTON – Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), today announced the recent appointment of Tracy Terrill to serve as Chief Digital Officer, a newly-created position at the SBA.
“I'm delighted to announce the appointment of Tracy Terrill as the first Chief Digital Officer of the Small Business Administration.” said Contreras-Sweet. “Tracy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the private sector, most recently as the Chief Technology Officer at LegalZoom. Tracy is a key member of my leadership team responsible for our digital strategy. In record time, Tracy has built a digital service team with top talent from both the private and public sector. The team is charged with guiding improvement of our systems and ensuring that the SBA leverages its digital capabilities to effectively serve entrepreneurs and small businesses."
“I am proud to be part of the SBA,” said Tracy Terrill. “The mission of SBA aligns with my passion for small business and entrepreneurs. In many ways, joining the SBA feels like an extension of my work at LegalZoom. As with LegalZoom, the SBA is focused on making resources easily accessible to entrepreneurs. I'm fully committed to the Administrator’s mission to make the SBA smart, bold, and accessible.”
Terrill is an experienced executive and has held numerous marketing and technology leadership roles with LegalZoom, NBC Universal Studios, Universal Music Group, Warner Brothers, and Gartner. He is a graduate of Sonoma State University and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California – Marshall School of Business.
President Obama acknowledged the work of SBA’s Digital Services team, which Mr. Terrill is leading, during his remarks at SXSW last week.
