TAMPA – Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and member of President Obama’s Cabinet will visit a small business in Tampa alongside Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and tour Port Tampa Bay to discuss borderless marketplace opportunities for small enterprises in the Tampa Bay area.
Trade is a substantial driver of Florida’s economy. Exports from Florida helped contribute to the $2.23 trillion of U.S. goods and services exports in 2015. A total of 61,489 companies exported from Florida locations in 2013. 95.3% of those companies were small and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 500 employees.
