SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Cheboygan County to Relocate and DLOCs Extends Closure Date

Personalized assistance still available!

ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced today the relocation of its Cheboygan County Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) from the Indian River Chamber of Commerce in Indian River to the Bodman Building in City of Cheboygan beginning Friday, July 11, at 8:00 a.m. All center operations have been extended until July 26, closing at 2 p.m.

SBA opened the DLOCs to provide personalized assistance to assist small businesses, private nonprofits and residents affected by the severe winter storms occurring March 28-30, 2025.

“When disasters strike, SBA’s Disaster Loan Outreach Centers perform an important role by assisting small businesses and their communities,” said Chris Stallings, associate administrator of the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience at the U.S. Small Business Administration. “At these centers, our SBA specialists help business owners and residents apply for disaster loans and learn about the full range of programs available to support their recovery.”

SBA customer service representatives will be on hand at the Disaster Loan Outreach Centers to answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and help individuals complete their application. Walk-ins are accepted, but you can schedule an in-person appointment in advance at appointment.sba.gov.

Disaster survivors should not wait to settle with their insurance company before applying for a disaster loan. If a survivor does not know how much of their loss will be covered by insurance or other sources, SBA can make a low-interest disaster loan for the total loss up to its loan limits, provided the borrower agrees to use insurance proceeds to reduce or repay the loan.

To apply online, visit sba.gov/disaster. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance.
