If you sell a product to anyone in the United States, you have specific Product Safety requirements even if you are just reselling something designed or manufactured by someone else. The Consumer Product Safety Commission dictates some requirements and is called upon whenever someone is hurt by a consumer product. Make this part of your planning and development and you will have an easier time defending yourself in case of any problems. In this program, we will have an open conversations with a product safety professional to give you the background most startups and small companies are missing. 

Our presenters:

Steve Epner is a SCORE volunteer and teaches Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Saint Louis University, and after selling his business, became the Entrepreneur in Residence for Boeing. He is a serial entrepreneur and mentor.

Richard Stern was the Associate Director, Office of Compliance and Field Operations for the US Consumer Product Safety Commission as well as senior safety roles in industry.
