Event description

If you’re developing an innovative technology with commercial potential and considering federal research funding, SBIR Bootcamp can help you take the next step. This two-day intensive workshop is designed for entrepreneurs and innovators interested in applying for SBIR or STTR grants offered by the federal government.

Attendance on both days is required. Over the course of the bootcamp, participants are guided through the SBIR/STTR grant process step by step. You’ll learn what funders are looking for, how proposals are evaluated, and how to clearly communicate the technical and commercial value of your innovation.

The bootcamp is led by Julie Assel, one of the region’s top grant writers, and Dr. Julie Edge, a Missouri SBDC expert in technology development and commercialization. Together, they provide practical instruction, real-world insight, and hands-on guidance.

Participants receive group instruction along with one-on-one coaching as they work through each section of the grant application. By the end of the bootcamp, you’ll leave with a clear outline for your SBIR or STTR proposal and a stronger understanding of how to move forward with confidence.

Participants must be prepared to write their grant application during this class and must be able to attend both days.
