Event description
Attend this FREE and informative webinar designed to help you create a targeted capability statement (CS) that gets the attention of federal agencies and prime contractors (large businesses with negotiated subcontracting goals) and positions your business to be noticed. Whether you are new to the government marketplace or looking to sharpen your outreach materials, this session will give you the tools you need to stand out.
We will walk you through how to craft a capability statement specifically tailored to federal buyers and prime contractors - what to include, what to avoid, and how to present your strengths in a way that aligns with government expectations. You will see real-life examples
and learn tips, tricks, and best practices to help you build a clear, concise, and compelling CS that may help you build key relationships and land opportunities to bid.
Don't miss this opportunity to develop a dynamic capability statement that supports your future success in the government marketplace.
Meet the Instructor:
Sandra Ledbetter is a Government Sales Advisor for the Mass Small Business Development Center (MA SBDC). She previously provided government procurement assistance to businesses located in Central MA under the PTAC/APEX Accelerator program. Sandra has an extensive procurement career with over 37 years working in the government marketplace. She has enjoyed living and working in different locations during her career, including Milwaukee, WI, Washington D.C., Bethesda, MD, MI, RI and now in Massachusetts.
Prior to joining the MA SBDC hosted PTAC program (now called the APEX Accelerator program) to open the Central MA office location in 2001, Sandra handled government and export sales for a New England based defense contractor. She also held the title of Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO). From 1987-1999, she was the Director of the Southwest Michigan PTAC (procurement technical assistance center). Sandra has years of procurement training, but she admits that you will never know everything about government contracting and as soon as you think you do it all changes! But that is why “we” are here to help our small businesses navigate this unfamiliar territory and language!
Sandra was an active member of NAPEX (National APEX Accelerator Alliance) Board for the last 24 years before stepping down in May 2025. She served as Secretary, Region 1 (New England) Director, and as the Membership Committee Chair during her volunteer service to NAPEX. She has been honored, and humbled, to receive numerous awards for her service to NAPEX and her clients including the NAPEX Becky Peterson Human Impact Award, the Fellow Award and the Betty McDonald Award and the SBA’s MA District Director Award, Center of Excellence Award and most recently the MA State Star Award.
“Free time” is spent enjoying her two amazing granddaughters, reading, yard work and renovating an old New England Stone and clapboard home. She is an expert window glazer!
