Smart Tax Strategies for Start-Up Businesses: Federal Taxes and Your New Business - Small Business Workforce & Compliance Quarterly Series
The quarterly series Small Business Workforce and Compliance hosted by SBA South Florida District Office and the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division will equip small businesses with guidance on recruitment, apprenticeships, training pathways, and employer compliance, while connecting them to federal, state, and local workforce resources.
The series launches on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 12 p.m., in collaboration with fellow federal agency Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Series 1 topic Smart Tax Strategies for Start-Up Businesses: Federal Taxes and Your New Business will be presented by IRS Tax Specialist and Senior Stakeholder Liaison Natalya A. Vasko. The webinar will:
- Explain the purpose of an Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Describe basic recordkeeping requirements for tax purposes
- Define basic bookkeeping systems and accounting methods
- Explain different types of business structures
- Define the Sharing/Gig Economy
- Offer guidance on choosing a paid tax professional
