Event description

In the competitive world of new ventures, your most valuable assets are often the ones you can’t touch - your Intellectual Property (IP). Whether it's a unique brand name, revolutionary software code, or a proprietary manufacturing process, failing to protect these "creations of the mind" can leave your business vulnerable to competitors and unattractive to investors.

Join us for an interactive session where we break down the IP framework -consisting of trademarks, patents, trade secrets and copyrights- that every founder needs to know.

Speaker: Sima S. Kulkarni, Duane Morris

Sima Kulkarni has a depth of experience practicing in the area of intellectual property law with a focus on patent and trademark prosecution in the technology and life sciences industry. Sima conducts all aspects of global patent and trademark portfolio prosecution, including obtaining invention disclosures, application drafting, response submission, appeals, on-site Patent Office interviews, inter-partes review (strategy and support) and risk assessment (freedom to operate). Sima also works on IP transactional matters such as collaboration and research agreements.
