Event description
This event is hosted by the University of Houston Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network
Join UH SBDC's Vision2Venture pathway to develop a comprehensive, best-practice business plan. Through structured learning utilizing Wendy Kennedy's "Design Your Business for Mainstreet" and the LivePlan platform, you'll transform your business concept into a detailed roadmap for success. Each online session combines brief lectures with hands-on activities, allowing you to work directly on your business plan while receiving expert guidance from industry professionals and UH SBDC Business Advisors.
Participants must attend all sessions, complete regular homework assignments, and actively engage in online discussions and activities. To finalize your professional business plan, participants are required to schedule no cost individual meetings with an SBDC Business Advisor to specifically develop financial projections. Class sessions emphasize constructive group discussions and feedback rather than individualized consultation or writing time.
This series will be held on Tuesdays, April 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2026.
Please be prepared to have your camera on and audio working. Certificates of Completion will be awarded to anyone attending all four sessions and doing all homework.
Highlights:
- Utilize Wendy Kennedy’s Design Your Business tools and LivePlan for structured business planning
- Work with industry experts and receive real-time feedback on your progress
- Develop comprehensive financial projections and funding strategies
- Create a professional business plan ready for lender or investor review
This four-week program is designed for entrepreneurs who have a clear business concept and are ready to develop a detailed business plan. Participants should be prepared to commit to weekly pre-work and active participation in hands-on workshop activities.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration will close two business days prior to the start of the cohort.
