Are you interested in filing a patent application without assistance from a registered patent attorney or agent? If so, join our next Stakeholder Offerings and Resources (SOaR) session on Tuesday, March 31, from 1–2 p.m. ET.

Sheree Brown, a patent examiner who is an expert on the application process, will discuss the three-step approach to filing a patent application without an attorney or agent (known formally as a pro se application). 

Topics we will cover include:

• Understanding the different types of patents
• Filing provisional versus nonprovisional applications
• Researching related, pre-existing inventions
• Registering as an e-filer
• Completing the required forms, including disclosures
