About the Series – Organized by the SBA Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office
Introducing the “Let's Talk Business Series”, a 12-part program connecting entrepreneurs with federal, state, and local small business resources. Whether you're a budding entrepreneur or want to grow your business, this series presents essential business topics, provides a forum for networking, and promotes success in today’s dynamic business environment. Participants may attend one, two, six, or all sessions.

Session 8 – Marketing 101: Plan, Execute & Grow Your Customer Base

Marketing is a solution-driven process that benefits both the customer and the business owner. While advertising is important, it is only a single component of the entire marketing process. A marketing plan is the blueprint of strategies to help you win and retain customers. Considered the heart of your business, a marketing plan includes detailed information about your business location, product and service prices, promotional methods, and the product itself.

Does your business have a clear marketing plan? Now, more than ever, it’s important for you to know how to distinguish your business from the competition and how to reach your ideal customers. This session, presented by the UTRGV Small Business Development Center, is designed to help both new and established businesses develop or refresh their marketing strategies to achieve measurable growth. A strong marketing plan doesn’t just attract customers—it leads to satisfied clients, valuable referrals, and a steady stream of new business.

Session highlights:

  • Understanding the 7 Steps of the Marketing Process
  • Identifying Your Target Market
  • Determining Your Pricing Strategy
  • Creating Customer Awareness
  • And much more!
