Event description

Understanding employment laws is important, but knowing what to do with that knowledge in real business situations is the next step. This expanded two-hour session is designed as the practical follow-up to Managing Your People Resources – Legally and helps small business owners move from legal awareness to everyday application.

From hiring and I-9s to pay practices, documentation, safety, accommodations, and discrimination prevention, this session focuses on how to apply compliance concepts more confidently in your business. Attendees will leave with practical guidance and action items to help them make more informed decisions, reduce risk, and apply stronger people practices in their business. The original session introduces the laws. This session helps you put them into practice.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Recognize how major employment law requirements affect everyday business decisions
  • Apply practical thinking to hiring, onboarding, I-9 completion, pay practices, and employee recordkeeping.
  • Identify common compliance risk areas related to workplace safety, discrimination, accommodations, and recordkeeping
  • Take away practical ideas for putting sound HR compliance practices into action in your business

Copy of the recording and materials will be sent to all attendees.
