Event description

Are your financial reports helping you make better business decisions or just giving you more numbers to review? Many business owners have access to financial data but struggle to turn it into clear insights that support profitability, cash flow, and growth. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to turn the reports you already have into practical decision-making tools. Whether you’re using accounting software like QuickBooks or simple spreadsheets, we’ll walk through the basics in a clear, approachable way, so you can understand what your numbers are telling you and use that insight to make more confident business decisions.

Highlights:

  • Understand the difference between recording transactions and using data to make decisions
  • Learn two reporting approaches: within your system (e.g., QuickBooks reports) and outside your system (Excel-based analysis across tools)
  • Combine data from multiple systems (e.g., accounting + sales) to get a complete picture of performance
  • Build a “minimum viable reporting pack” focused on what matters most such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow basics, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and a custom KPI tied to your business
  • Understand when Excel is sufficient and when Power BI becomes the better tool for dashboards and decision-making

This session is intended for business owners who already have financial data but need a clearer way to turn it into actionable decisions that improve profitability, strengthen cash flow, and support sustainable growth.
