This Event is Hosted by the Prairie View A&M Extension Program for Waller and Grimes County

The Contract Ready Business Expo is a dynamic three-day event designed to equip small businesses, entrepreneurs, and contractors with the tools, connections, and strategies needed to become contract ready and position themselves for procurement, capital access, and long-term business growth. Attendees will gain expert insight into procurement processes, funding opportunities, cooperative purchasing, and business development through engaging sessions and keynote presentations.

  • Day I: Wednesday, July 8 | 9:00am-2:00pm CT 
    Positioning the Business for BIDS, Proposals & Contracts
    This session is designed to help businesses build a strong foundation for procurement success by understanding business planning, the procurement lifecycle, proposal readiness, capability statements, financial positioning, and the bonding process. Participants will gain practical strategies to better position their businesses for contracting and competitive opportunities.
  • Day II: Thursday, July 9 | 9:00am-2:00pm CT 
    Access to Capital
    This session is designed to help small businesses understand funding opportunities and prepare financially for growth. Participants will gain insight into becoming bank ready, accessing traditional and alternative financing, leveraging small business resources, and positioning their businesses for long-term sustainability and expansion.
  • Day III: Friday, July 10 | 9:00am-2:00pm CT 
    Connect and Grow
    This session is focused on helping businesses expand their networks, strengthen partnerships, and connect with cooperative purchasing programs, local municipalities, and economic development leaders. Participants will learn strategies to increase visibility, build relationships, and identify opportunities for long-term business growth and contracting success.
    • During Day III, join District Director Mark Winchester as he presents an overview of the U.S. Small Business Administration programs and services including insight on no-cost business counseling through the SBA Resource Partner Network, access to capital through SBA-guaranteed lenders, federal contracting and certifications, and disaster assistance.
