Peter A. Steele

Peter A. Steele is the New England Regional Administrator serving Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Mr. Steele is a seasoned communications strategist with extensive experience in government, corporate and media relations. Most recently serving as senior manager of corporate communications at Sappi North America, a global manufacturing company, he oversaw internal and external communications, crisis management, media relations and branding.

Previously, Mr. Steele worked for the Trump Administration as the regional representative for the U.S. Secretary of Labor, where he played a key role in guiding New England states through workforce and economic recovery initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also served for six years as director of communications for Maine Governor Paul R. LePage, leading strategic messaging, media relations and crisis communications for the administration.

With a background in journalism and editorial leadership positions, Mr. Steele grew up on Cape Cod in a newspaper family, then founded and grew Twin City TIMES, a successful weekly newspaper in Maine. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Colby College and has been a driving force in shaping public narratives and advancing policy initiatives throughout his career.
