Gwen and Larry Collins purchased Greene Machine and Manufacturing, Inc. in January of 2006 and have been operating it for 20 years. Her experience as an electrical engineer and his experience in construction helped propel this business from a small company to hire almost 100 employees. Today the company specializes in producing high-quality, tight-tolerance parts and assemblies for both commercial industries and government clients.

Collin’s have used an SBA Express Loan, SBA 7a loans, the 8(a) Business Development program, and the Macon SBDC to help grow their business and employ local workers throughout Macon. During the pandemic the SBA, through the Payment Protection Program, helped them assist with operating expenses and payroll of employees during COVID-19. This helped with keeping their plant open during a challenging time.

Collin’s manufacturing plant is a premier example of a Made in America small business story that continues to inspire entrepreneurs everywhere.
