Readout of SBA Administrator Guzman’s visit to Fresno as part of the White House’s Latino Prosperity Tour

The Administrator visited several local small businesses, and also addressed a gathering of current and prospective Latina entrepreneurs

FRESNO – On Thursday, June 1, 2023, SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman was in Fresno, CA to meet with local entrepreneurs, highlighting recent actions by the SBA to improve access to capital for underserved communities and reaffirming the commitment of the Biden-Harris Administration to uplift Black and Brown-owned businesses.

Administrator Guzman began the day with a roundtable discussion with community resource partners and small business lenders to discuss how the SBA and the Biden-Harris Administration can better support Fresno-area entrepreneurs. After these discussions, Administrator Guzman toured Full Circle Brewing, meeting with the owners and learning more about their success story as the largest Black-owned and operated brewery in America. The Administrator then delivered keynote remarks at the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation’s “The Power of Women in Business” conference to spotlight the accomplishments, contributions, and tenacity of Latina entrepreneurs in the San Joaquin Valley.

Administrator Guzman then ended her day by visiting two additional small businesses – Western Boots Fashion and Tabachines Cocina. The Administrator toured the businesses to learn more about their individual successes, as well as discuss how the SBA and the Biden-Harris Administration are working to lift small business owners in often underserved communities by overhauling lending rules and ensuring all entrepreneurs have access to the capital they need to achieve the dream of business ownership.
