About our office
The Office of Human Resources Solutions (OHRS) under the Chief Human Capital Officer provides exceptional Human Capital services to meet the dynamic needs of the SBA senior leadership, program offices, and employees. OHRS works in partnership with SBA leaders to build a high quality workforce and a high performing organization. This is accomplished through:
- Hiring high caliber employees by conducting recruitment outreach to broaden the pool of qualified candidates, pre-planning staffing needs in consultation with hiring managers, applying merit systems principles in the candidate interviewing and selection process, and onboarding new employees.
- Developing our talent by offering opportunities for leader development, functional training, skills-based technical training, and certification. Complementing formal professional development with robust career broadening opportunities (e.g. internal/external job rotations.)
- Retaining our valued employees by cultivating effective leadership attributes in our current and future leaders, providing mentorship, delivering employee benefits, soliciting employee ideas and suggestions, and strengthening communication and transparency between employees and the SBA leadership.
- Complying with statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements governing HR matters, promulgating HR policy and procedures that align with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidance, and delivering management and employee training to ensure compliance with merit systems principles.
